Hola from Estib, Estib, and Estib! (Steven Giordano, Steve Dang, and Steve Reed)
First off, sorry for the delay blogging; we have no internet besides this internet cafe we found. We wanted to catch you up on everything since we left Calvary thus far. Here's how our travels began: broken bus, delayed flight (three hours!), sprinted to connecting flight (made it within 5 minutes of departure, think of the movie Home Alone, but no one way left behind, promise), questionable flight food, and on our way to where we're staying, we may have momentarily lost some cargo on the highway, it was hastily recovered. All in all, even the first 24 hours have been eventful and full of great stories.
Here's a quick rundown of what we've been up to:
1.) Hacemos mucho calor! (it's super hot and HUMID down here)
2.) Lots of construction, in the past four construction days, we mixed concrete and mortar for a foundation and four walls, shoveled about ten thousands scoops of sand, rock, etc. and it's coming along great!
3.) Did we mention the heat?
4.) We've gotten to know our Honduran brothers and sisters in Christ down here from Iglesia Bautista Coservadora (spelling is up for debate)
5.) We've enjoyed numerous church services (some translated, some not.....) which have expanded all our personal visions of what church can be about in our own lives
6.) Food.....muy fantastico! We've been eating quite a ton (fairly literal ton) of amazing Honduran food! But we're burning pretty much all of it off immediately
7.) It's sweaty, words could never do it justice.
8.) Our morning devotions have pushed our thoughts to expand beyond what we can see in order to pursue God
9.) Everyone has been trying new things!
10.) Vacation Bible School has been a great fun time of laughs, puppets, crafts, songs, and experiencing God working in children's lives here in Honduras
11.) Steve Dang says the vultures here are massive! (no one else has seen them but him...you decide)
12.) Everyone is healthy besides the tiredness and soreness. I'm sure it builds character ;)
13.) Driving is very interesting.....you'd have to be here
14.) We miss you all very much!
Thanks so much for all the prayers and thoughts. Look forward to sharing more detail about all our stories very soon!
